Grandview Medical Center Ribbon Cutting for Freestanding Emergency Department in Trussville
4/4/2023
BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 4, 2023) --- Grandview Medical Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony today for the new Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED), opening in Trussville later this spring. The 12,500 square foot facility is the first of its kind in the Trussville community and will provides patient with another option for 24/7 emergency services in the region.
“The freestanding emergency department in Trussville will provide an additional access point to quality care for people in east Jefferson County and surrounding areas,” said Daniel McKinney, CEO at Grandview Medical Center. “This is an important example of our continued commitment to bringing access to healthcare services to the communities we serve.”
The new FSED is located at 5542 Vanlerberghe Lane, just off Highway 11 next to the Trussville Board of Education. It will include nine exam rooms, Fast Track rooms, on-site lab services, diagnostic imaging for X-ray, CT, and ultrasound. There is also a heliport on site. Emergency physicians, registered nurses and other patient care professionals will staff the ER.
Many emergency services can be effectively managed at the freestanding emergency department without the need for transfer to a traditional hospital setting. However, if a higher level of care is needed, relationships with ground ambulance and medical helicopter services can quickly transport patients to Grandview Medical Center or the facility of their choice.
