Grandview Names Chief Nursing Officer

Sherry Cole, RN, MSN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Grandview Medical Center.
Cole began her clinical career at Carraway Methodist Medical Center following graduation from UAB. In 1987 she earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from UAB and moved to University of Alabama Hospital before joining Trinity Medical Center in 1994. During her career, she has served in a variety of clinical positions including staff nurse for OHICU and CVICU, cardiac transplant coordinator, clinical nurse specialist for CVICU and CV surgery, cardiovascular clinical excellence coordinator, chest pain center coordinator, director of CICU, clinical director of the CV service line and interim CNO.

She brings a collaborative spirit with her and understands that by working together great things can be accomplished,” said Keith Granger, CEO and President of Grandview Medical Center. “It is this spirit and her dedication to excellence in patient care that will help position us for the future.”
Cole’s outstanding leadership and clinical skills have been recognized by others as well. In 2012 she was named an Alabama Hospital Hero by the Alabama Hospital Association. In 2014 she was recognized as the Outstanding Critical Care Manager by the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and in 2015 was named Nursing Director of the Year for Trinity Medical Center.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Cole resides in Shelby County. She and her husband, Randy, have three sons.
