Local Doctor Elected President of the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians

Birmingham, AL (July 3, 2017) --- Tracy Jacobs, M.D., has been elected president of the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). She has served on the AAFP board since 2012.

Dr. Jacobs has been in private practice in the Birmingham area for five years. She joined the Grandview Medical Group physician network in 2014. Her practice is located off Highway 280 in Lee Branch.

Dr. Jacobs received her medical degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She also completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Alabama. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Jacobs worked as a project coordinator for Research Genetics in Huntsville and then as a pharmaceutical representative for Eli Lilly and Company.

In addition to AAFP, Dr. Jacobs is member of the National Lipid Association, a fellow if the American Academy of Family Medicine and a member of the Obesity Medicine Association.
